Matteo Mauro Studio is welcoming the Spring season by hosting two events throughout the month of May.

May 7th – Solo Exhibition “Nel buio” by Alessandro d’Aquila

Nel buio,” is a compelling solo exhibition by Alessandro d’Aquila, personally curated by Matteo Mauro, in collaboration with Galleria Monopoli. Matteo Mauro describes Alessandro D’Aquila’s works as, “appearing both cryptic and obvious, A mechanism where consciousness and unconsciousness closely interact, one serving as a lever to grant access to the other”. It was back during the 2021 pandemic where the artist began creating the series, Le Tavole Ottometriche Poetiche (The poetic Optometric Charts). These artworks reinterpret visual examination tools into poetic and philosophical objects that not only blends aesthetics with conceptual depth, but forces the viewer to take a more concentrated look.

The public is invited to experience the pieces and observe the evolution they’ve undergone as the series keeps developing through the years. The vernissage opens at 7pm, at Galleria Monopoli at Via Ventura 6, Milan 20134. Both Alessandro d’Aquila and Matteo Mauro will be present at the event.

There will be a special interference by Waro, the artist known for his calm chaos, who will include a special piece in the show.
