Matteo Mauro will close out the year in early December with Tra Segno e Silenzio, a dual solo exhibition at the Fondazione Italo Zetti in Parma, Italy. Presenting alongside the artist will be Alessandro D’Aquila with his infamous light boxes. The show will open with a vernissage on December 6th, 2025, and will remain on view until February 7th. Fondazione Italo Zetti was founded in 1999 with the purpose of preserving and promoting the artistic cultural heritage left by Italo Zetti in relation to engravings, and creative calligraphy. Mauro and D’Aquila’s languages resonate with the heritage that emits from within the space, creating a harmonious environment for the artists to exhibit within.
Tra Segno e Silenzio serves as the opportune setting for Mauro to display artworks that serve as the framework for his Inscriptions language, represented through his Micromegalic and Raw series. Presenting contemporary artworks strategically in the base of such a traditional engraver shows the distance the line has travelled over generations. Through Mauro’s artworks you are invited to visualize the way the line blends past, present and future together. The Raw Inscriptions series are known for their experimental and generative approach inspired by our ancestors and their first marking of the line on stone walls. While his Inscriptions on Canvas series carry forward the tactile tradition of painting, capturing his Micromegalic series through thousands of oil brush strokes on canvas.
The exhibition also offers a moment of dialogue between Matteo Mauro and Alessandro D’Aquila, bringing together two distinct voices in contemporary art. Their works engage with themes of identity, memory, and transformation, resonating strongly within the historical and cultural framework of Parma. Visitors to Parma will have the chance to experience his unique artistic language firsthand in one of Italy’s most culturally vibrant cities.
