Matteo Mauro

José Van Roy Dalì, artist and art critic son of the renowned surrealist Salvador Dali, has personally given the Vincent Van Gogh Prize to the contemporary artist Matteo Mauro. The ceremony took place in the grand rooms of  the Museum Diocesano of Palermo.

Dali’ said the painting wonderfully recalls the post-impressionist dynamism and it is highly executed by the artist. He appreciates the contemporary digital technique which is able to create a painting of an ‘immortal aesthetic’ far from the most common digital reinterpretation of classical arts.
