Emorfes, an art & design magazine, has recently published an article on the series of digital engravings created by Matteo Mauro and called ‘Micromegalic Inscription’.
These techniques of digital engraving, developed by the artist, produce contemporary paintings of traced and abstracted 18th century ‘capriccios’ prints. Examples of these artworks are available at the following page; Micromegalic Inscription.
Matteo Mauro, supervised by Oliver Domeisen, recently wrote a research book about the process behind these inscriptions. The book is going to be published soon in the UK and it explains the whole computational painting process technically and poetically.
