For FuoriSalone 2026, Matteo Mauro has been invited to participate in WIDEYES – Beyond Creative Movement, a solo exhibition that transforms the cloisters of Chiesa Santa Maria alla Fontana into an immersive environment where art, music, and design converge during Milan Design Week.

Within this sacred space, Mauro presents a solo exhibition that establishes a compelling dialogue between contemporary sculpture and historic architecture. Hidden within one of Milan’s most evocative spaces, the exhibition offers visitors a rare opportunity to encounter Mauro’s sculptural language shaped by atmosphere, history, and spatial resonance.

At the centre of Mauro’s intervention is Dietro L’Incanto, featuring three interconnected sculptural artworks: Atom For The Peace, Lacrime, and Steel in Space. Together, these sculptures form a conceptual triptych that reflects on tensions underlying contemporary existence. Together, these sculptures examine the fragile conditions of human experience, concealed beneath the illusion of urban serenity and metropolitan schizophrenia. Atom for the Peace reflects growth and fragility in relation to finding peace in our modern society. While, Lacrime embodies shared personal grief and collective emotional vulnerability, Steel in Space projects matter beyond earths natural limits, further exploring expansion, transcendence and the future of material existence.

These three artworks traverse three phases of contemporary human reality, an increasingly distant peace, shared personal pain, and the expansion of matter into space. Each artwork continues Mauro’s ongoing exploration of transformation, material tension, and the intersection between sculpture and social consciousness. Dietro L’Incanto, invites audiences to look beyond appearances and confront the fragile emotional and political structures that define our present moment, where history, architecture, and contemporary creativity converge.

The installation opens to the public on Tuesday, April 21st, 2026, and remains on view through Friday, April 24th, 2026, concluding with a special closing event on the final evening. The exhibition is open from 10am – 10pm 21st/23rd April, with the event hosting a music evening on April 24th from 5pm – 10pm.

The exhibition will take place in the Heart of the Isola Design District: Via Gian Antonio Boltraffio, 16, Milan, Italy
