October 2026 marks another video collaboration between Matteo Mauro and NVIDIA, exploring the relationship between advanced digital technology and contemporary artistic production. The project offers a closer look inside Mauro’s creative process, examining how technology contributes to the development of artworks from their earliest digital stages through to their physical realisation.

Technology has long occupied an important position within Matteo Mauro’s practice. With a background spanning architecture and computational art, Mauro has developed an artistic language in which digital processes coexist with some of the oldest methods of artistic production. His research on algorithms, digital modelling and computational experimentation form the foundations of his artwork series, embedding these ideas into painting, engraving, metalwork and sculpture.

The upcoming collaboration with NVIDIA provides an opportunity to reveal more of his process. Through the video, Mauro will demonstrate how digital technologies allow forms to be generated, manipulated, visualised and tested before entering the physical world. Rather than replacing manual processes, these technologies become another stage within a broader creative methodology. This interaction between the virtual and physical has become particularly important within Mauro’s recent production.

The collaboration also examines a broader question that has accompanied Mauro’s practice for many years, where does the digital process end and the physical artwork begin? For Mauro, the distinction is increasingly fluid. Technology is not simply a means of visualising a finished idea, but a space in which the artwork itself can evolve.
