Deep Textures is a series of basreliefs that allows Matteo Mauro to develop his conception of 3D Art, three-dimensional digital painting to be precise. The project took shape in the birthplace of the artist, Sicily, during April 2016. The colours and re-elaborations of a deep, dense consistency of an imaginary architectural texture. The white of the Mediterranean limestones of which the Sicilian baroque architectures are made, the black of the Etna lava rocks, the magmatic red of the trasgressive creativity that will be found in London, the city in which the artist has chosen to live. From the material to the abstract and vice versa, reinterpretations of surfaces and extra-sensorial perceptions.
[Italian] Deep Textures è una serie che permette a Matteo Mauro di declinare la sua concezione di 3D Art, arte digitale in 3D, scultura digitale tridimensionale per la precisione. Il progetto ha preso forma nella terra natale dell’artista, in Sicilia, durante l’aprile del 2016. Centrali sono i colori e le rielaborazioni di una consistenza, profonda, densa. Il bianco del calcare mediterraneo di cui sono fatte le architetture barocche siciliane, il nero delle rocce laviche dell’Etna, il rosso magmatico della creatività trasgressiva che troverà a Londra, città nella quale l’artista ha scelto di trasferirsi. Dal materico all’astratto e viceversa, reinterpretazioni di superfici e di percezioni sensoriali ed extrasensoriali.
